“How do I change my proxy settings?” Common question that your less tech savvy users keep asking you? Are you that less tech savvy user asking that question now? There are many ways to make using proxy settings a thing of the past, such as PAC files and client based filtering, but in many environments setting a system proxy is the way it’s done, and for some users this can be a daunting task to change this when on/off site.

It was a common question from less tech savvy teachers I support, so I quickly knocked up a utility to do it for them. V1 utilises VB and is best used on W8 and below (hopefully we don’t have any of those devices in wild anymore, but just in case, it’s still there), V2 utilises How do I change my proxy settings? – Easy Method!Powershell and will only work on W10.

How to Use

Simply download the file and run. No installation necessary.

V1 – When at home, click “At Home” to disable the proxy. When in school click “At School” to enable the proxy – simple as that!

V2 – When at home, click “Disable Proxy” to disable the proxy. When in school, click “Enable Proxy” to enable the proxy – simple as that!
